Hickory’s Business Development Committee (BDC) is looking to recognize some of the City’s oldest operating businesses. In this effort, a research team has been appointed to locate companies dating back 75 years or more with the city. A large list has been gathered; however there is concern that some of the smaller, less publicized companies may have been missed. This is where the City of Hickory is asking for your help. If you know of a business that has operated out of Hickory for 75 years or more, please list it below as a new “idea”. Additionally, if you have any knowledge on the actual establishment date and/or the industry in which it operates, include it as well as a comment on any of the companies being listed.
